Ann Arbor's Fairy Doors

I've lived in Ann Arbor for years over the span of decades, but I didn't discover Ann Arbor's fairy doors until a couple years ago thanks to a friend in the know.

But they are the cutest! I recently did a tour with that friend, exploring Ann Arbor and its fairy doors.

Essentially, they're tiny doors built into random places downtown.

Even better, the locals have gotten into it, and they create little scenes filled with whatever old plastic toys they have lying around.

Sometimes those toys are dinosaurs. 😂

During that tour, I took a bunch of pictures. Including a pic of the dinosaurs one, of course!

Now, whenever I'm out and about Ann Arbor, I look for fairy doors.

And I often spot one or two.

Here are my fav fairy door pics I've taken over the years. My ultimate fairy door overall is last. 😊

The best fairy village:

The largest fairy door I've seen in Ann Arbor, with several levels!

Fairy doors in and around businesses downtown:

And random ones seen around town:

And of course, my ultimate favorite, the fairy door at the Ann Arbor downtown library:

P.S. I wrote a short story inspired by one of these fairy doors! Read The Fairy Choice: an urban fantasy action/adventure here.
